Bigger Upset: 80 USA GOLD or 85 Wildcats?

"Today is the 40th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice, the 1980 USA Hockey team. Great story, Coach Mass and Mike Eruzione are at a golf outing drinking red wine and telling stories. They get into a serious discussion on who’s upset was better Team USA or the 85 Cats. Mike is like Coach Come on it’s no Contest ours is better. Coach then suggests a friendly wager 10 bucks and the loser has to admit the other one is better. How will we decide? coach says I will call Coach Mike Fratello and Dodger MGR Tommy Lasorda in the Dodger dugout ( both are great friends of Coach) They will be the judges. Mike agrees.

They call Fratello first. The call wakes Mike out of a sound sleep.  Coach Mass says Mike I got Eurzonie here he thinks his upset was bigger than ours , Fratello says put him on , Fratello says Not Even Close Mike Rollie’s Game was a way bigger upset ! Eurzonie is dumb founded and says Call Lasorda! They call Tommy Lasorda in the Dodger dugout during a game. Tommy says, Coach I’m in the middle of a game here, put Eurzonie on, Mike gets on the phone and Tommy says  it’s not even close kid, Rollie’s upset was way better!

Mike was Shocked and begrudgingly hands over the 10 bucks and says the Nova Cats game was the Biggest Upset, never knowing they called 2 of Coach Massimono’s Closest Friends. Years later at the 20th reunion of our 85 Championship, Mike is asked to speak he tells the story and adds “ Until they make a movie about Your game Ours will Always be better and they Better do it quick Danny Devito is getting to old to play you in the movie “ CLASSIC ! Congratulations Mike Eurzonie and the Rest of the 1980 Olympic Hockey team on one of the Best Games Ever , You made the Entire Nation Proud .
